Colac Otway Council have voted in favour in the new draft budget to increase rates by 1.5% amidst the Covid-19 outbreak.

Our rural community and local businesses that are not primary industry have already received a huge economic hit by being closed for as long as they have. Eventually this will affect primary industries and many more jobs around the area. Our council ought be supporting their rate payers during this time.

We must to avoid further disenfranchising vulnerable families with a rate increase.
