The judgment for all four Aarey matters listed before the HC  that shall be delivered tomorrow, Friday, 4th October, 2019 are as follows:
1. Aarey forest matter
2. Depot flood plain matter
3 & 4. Challenges to decision by Tree Authority.

The Bombay High Court had reserved its judgment on Tuesday on a clutch of PILs challenging the removal of 2,646 trees in Aarey Colony to make way for the MMRCL’s Metro 3 car shed, observing that if all the trees were chopped, the next generation would only see them in photographs.

While we wait for the honourable court to deliver the final judgement, we have certain expectations from the Indian Judiciary to deliver judgement which are as follows:
1. The judgement should protect and respect the interest of every inhabitant of this city including man, trees, wildlife & biodiversity.
2. The judgement is visionary enough to safeguard health & vitality of future generations.
3. The judgement allows the city to retain it's most iconic topography of rivers, jungles, mountains & seas.
4. The judgement paves way for the era of the sustainable infrastructure in not just Mumbai but the entire country.
5. The judgement is bold, courageous, devoid of any political pressures, is independent and insightful.
6. The judgement should set an example for & inspire all similar cases where larger interests of planet is held sovereign.

In my open letter to Indian Judiciary, I have expressed some of my expectations from Indian Judicial System & how it can help citizens materialize their voice into action and prove that it indeed is one of the four pillars on which our democracy stands.
