Club Space Belongs to the Community, Not Corporate Interests
For decades, Miami’s nightlife has been defined by community, creativity, and culture — not by corporate interests. Club Space is more than just a venue, it is a homegrown institution that represents the true spirit of Miami: diverse, open, authentic, and inclusive, built by and for the community.
Today, that spirit is under threat. Insomniac, a national events conglomerate, is seeking to take full control of Club Space — one of the city’s most important cultural spaces. If Insomniac assumes full control, the scene as we know it will never be the same.
The truth is clear:
• The founders, CDD, create the magic. Events like Miami Music Week, III Points, Hocus Pocus, and Art Basel thrive because they were envisioned, booked, produced, and lived by CDD — people who are part of the scene, not outside of it.
• Miami deserves authenticity. CDD are not just organizers; they are present. They go into the crowd, vibe with the people, hand things out, take feedback, and listen. They know the artists and the community personally — it’s why their events feel alive, unique, and connected. Ask yourself: when was the last time anyone saw Pasquale Rotella at Space? For most of us who’ve gone every weekend, the answer is never.
• Culture comes first. CDD are Miami. They understand the sound, the people, the energy. They’re immersed in it, they are it. Insomniac’s formula is corporate — driven by brand and profit, not by living and breathing the music alongside the people. Once control shifts, the relationship with artists, DJs, and the crowd inevitably becomes transactional instead of communal.
This isn’t just about venues. It’s about protecting Miami’s identity from being diluted into a mainstream, cookie-cutter formula that could exist in any city. Club Space is one-of-a-kind because it's run by people who are of this community, not just profiting off it.
We, the undersigned, call on Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac Events to step back and allow Coloma, David, and Davide to continue leading Club Space — for the sake of Miami, its culture, and its future.
Miami is not for sale. Our culture is not for sale. Support CDD.
