Close the Gates/Dam Neglect 

Roll Up!... Roll Up!... The SEQWater Circus is operating again in the Lockyer Valley. 

This Circus is managed VERY POORLY, and we need COMMUNITY ACTION to get rid of this management and act and to solve the problems in the Lockyer Valley. 

Please voice your concerns with any issues with this SEQwater Service operating in the Lockyer Valley. 

Have a voice and act now as we need to be heard. 
We informed SEQ management for over 2 years about the barb wire, timber & steel fencing in the dam. The dam filled up and SEQWater management denied it. We have photo & video evident of this happening. 

That is why we felt the need to go to The Lockyer and Somerset Independent. As the dam will get lower in the near future, we will be supporting any dam users that have had accidents on the dam due to the post & barb wire in legal cases.

Now we have similar issues with SEQWater management in the Lockyer Valley concerning not locking the gates at Atkinson Dam Day Use Area, also being left unlocked is The Spit at Somerset Dam one of the busiest dams that SEQWater have. How can this be. SEQWater works for us the Taxpayer. 

This is why the community needs to be brought to the attention about the general running and maintenance of The Atkinson Dam Day Use Area by SEQWater .

Atkinson Dam Day Area is in a serious state of neglect and is far from the picture painted on the SEQWater web site. The dam has been a thriving hub of activity with skiing and other water-based sports now available to the general public. The two gates that allow access to the dam, were closed and opened daily but since the dam reached capacity this has stopped happening. 

As a result, there is vandalism and illegal activities has become rampant especially at night. Numerous concerns has been brought to the attention of SEQWater Circus management about hooning, illegal camping , drug dealing, urine and feces in the viewing  platform building, graffiti , feces being left in the amenities block sinks, dumping of dead cows , squatters camping in the scrub with drug items and human feces laying around in the scrub, used syringes up under neath the toilet bowls and water sports happening on the dam in the dark with no lighting which so ever on the water craft. 

The many dogs that are off lead of a nighttime with illegal campers and wild parties that attack our koloas and bird life.  The list goes on and on. We have photos & videos all the proof needed to back these issues up but the SEQWater Management Circus do not want to listen. 

This is why we are going to the community for support. Let protect our families that use the day area children, parents, grandparents and our kolas and bird life to make this a safe environment. 

Will 11 billion asset portfolio SEQWater is clearly not interested in maintaining their assets. It is clear that Atkinson Dam and other dams are just glossed over, and users of the dam are forgotten.

Looking deeper SEQWater have on their website have partnered with a Wakeboard champion to launch a Lake Safety Campaign. “I wonder if they know of the dangers found especially at Atkinson Dam with Public Liability in mind this dam is accident waiting to happen”. 

Maybe in the near future we need to air all of our evident on Channel Nine, A Current Affair etc...to expose the Clowns that work for SEQWater Circus in the Lockyer Valley. God Bless and please help.
