The Central Park Zoo has been a popular attractant for years. However, it's time for us to question the ethics and welfare implications of keeping animals in such environments. Modern research shows that many animals in zoos exhibit signs of stress and boredom, indicating that zoo life does not meet their intellectual and emotional needs (Sources: PLOS ONE Journal, 2018, APA). In some cases, captive animals even exhibit zoochosis, a kind of psychosis caused by confinement (Source: Scientific American, 2007). We need to advocate for a more ethical and humane approach towards animals, often magnificent beings who are far removed from their native environments by thousands of miles. As an alternative, funding can be placed into wildlife conservation projects that protect animals in their natural habitats. It's time to prioritize animal welfare and redefine our relationship with wildlife. Please lend your voice to this cause and sign this petition to close the Central Park Zoo.
