Dear supporters,
We write with many thanks for the generous donations and the incredible support of people like you, one or our 5000+ who have signed this petition.
It has given the Lambeth Village community both the resources and the confidence, to make our case against the proposed skyscraper development at 8 Albert Embankment, most recently this was at the public inquiry called by the Secretary of State.
The inquiry started on Tuesday 1st December and ended on Friday 18th December 2020. It looked at a range of issues with the proposals including design, heritage impacts on the London Fire Brigade art deco HQ (8 Albert Embankment), other local heritage assets including Lambeth Palace, the Westminster World Heritage Site, the sun and daylight of local residents (where 400 windows fall below BRE standards) and the impacts on other issues like transport, affordable housing and industrial land.
You can watch all of this on YouTube and truly it is gripping! ....all episodes here
You can see and hear members of the community speaking from 2pm on Thursday 10th December here
It will be some time before we know the outcome of the public inquiry and the decision of the Secretary of State, Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP, but we continue to count on your support.
