Hi All, and thank you for your continuing support.

Since I submitted our petition to the EA our local MP John Howell, Robert Jenrick the Minister, the Chair of SODC the entire Planning Committee at SODC and to Taylor Wimpey's Chair and Chief Exec, we have had a number of acknowledgements and promises to look into things, and Taylor Wimpey have responded at length to the Parish Council about how good and altruistic they are, but completely ignoring the fact that this was a process CHOSEN by them to minimise public consultation and awareness, and not an open and honest dialogue with the community.

We now also have a bank account in place, a treasurer from the Parish Council and literally hundreds of pledges of financial support. I'm amazed at the level of feeling here and the offers of support both practical and financial. There seems to be a real will to stop this kind of rough shod behaviour  by developers who think that might is right, and that all they need to do is throw enough money at a problem and the local residents will go away.

This issue will potentially effect peoples lives. It's no joke having a flood, and when it actually creeps that last centimeter into your house the damage and effects are devastating. Why would anyone move that burden onto another party knowingly! The one thing with water is that it has to go somewhere, and if it is stopped in one place it will come out in another. You cannot hold water back indefinitely and however well thought out the design might be, when there is torrential rain it must find a route even if stored short term. So adding to that problem is in my view the inevitable consequence of Taylor Wimpeys actions, and we must insist that the EA and others take that issue seriously.

Keep on asking friends and neighbours in the locality to sign the petition and also sign up to support the Action Group with both practical and financial help.
