We the citizens and bus riders of Clinton County, are petitioning the above parties to address significant changes to the transportation system in Clinton County, New York. We believe the proposed plan has not been approved by the New York State Department of Transportation. We believe the impact on every bus rider cannot be calculated. Planning officials have stated that they do not know if the changes to the system will work. We demand that the tests of the proposed system routes and an impact study be done prior to starting the proposed system changes. At the present time, wheelchair accessible shelters are not available at the proposed system stops, in particular at the Government Center transfer point. On behalf of people with disabilities, we feel the lack of appropriate shelters may skew the test results. We respectfully request that the New York State Depart of Transportation assist Clinton County in conducting the test to properly address these concerns.
