Clemency for David Bronson

The Issue

We join together in support of executive clemency for David Bronson (DIN: 00A5381), who we believe deserves an opportunity for rehabilitation and redemption. Through this petition, we aim to advocate for his release and highlight the transformative efforts and potential he has demonstrated during his incarceration.

Over the past year, we have come to know Mr. Bronson through his partner, Selena Bronson, and have witnessed his caring, reflective, and kind-hearted nature. Despite the challenges of prison life, Mr. Bronson has actively engaged in meaningful rehabilitative efforts, positively influencing his fellow inmates, and taking complete accountability for the serious harm he caused. Furthermore, we firmly believe that he poses no risk to the community and should be granted the chance to reintegrate into society.

Throughout our interactions with Mrs. Bronson, she has shared with us her husband's numerous accomplishments and his aspirations for a life beyond incarceration. Currently participating in the Puppies Behind Bars program, Mr. Bronson derives great satisfaction from knowing that his work will benefit others in the future. He is on track to earn a certification and eagerly anticipates starting his own dog training company upon release. Additionally, Mr. Bronson has earned his GED, completed ART programs, and voluntarily participates in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and the Alternatives to Violence Project. Moreover, he has obtained a Food Handler's Certification, which will assist him in securing employment upon release.

While acknowledging the gravity of Mr. Bronson's crime and the profound loss it caused to a life and a community, we emphasize his demonstrated growth, accountability, and remorse. He has spent years developing insight, taking responsibility for his actions, and actively making amends for the harm he caused. Although he cannot undo the past, we firmly believe that his deep remorse and commitment to accountability ensure that he will lead a crime-free life if granted the opportunity to reintegrate into society. Furthermore, we believe that Mr. Bronson can contribute to community safety by deterring others, particularly the young people he aspires to work with, from following a similar path.

Considering the aforementioned factors, we earnestly request that you exercise your authority to grant Mr. Bronson a commutation. His release would be met with the full support of his family, colleagues, and the undersigned. We stand ready, willing, and able to provide him with the necessary support upon release, ensuring that he can lead a safe, productive, and law-abiding life in society. We implore you to give Mr. Bronson a second chance.
