With the help of a lot of research agencies, volunteers, researchers, civil societies and institutes Zahreeli Gas Kand sangharsh Morcha was able to collect a large set of data about the gas victims right after the tragedy happened.

The morcha could assess the right amount of compensation, which was still low from international standards with the help of scholars, proffessors, experts. What morcha demanded was 1000crore from the 3800 crore that union of india got from union carbide corporation to be directly distributed to the victims.

Out of which case was settled at 350crores. Which was further reduced to 250 crores. Which finally got distributed as 1lac to deciet, 50000 to directly affected and 25000 to indirectly affected.

In 2010 central government planned to put a review pettition in supreme court after continuously writing to them about it for so many years on diffrent matters with the efforts of activist like Lt Sri Alok Pratap Singh Ji and Lt Sri Abdul Jabbar ji.
