The water tower just outside the gates of the New Jersey Motorsports Park and the Millville Municipal Airport has become an eyesore for the community. Visible from miles around, it stands as a landmark to both facilities, yet in its current state, it tarnishes the scenic beauty of our area. Making matters worse, nearly every photograph taken around here captures the unsightly backdrop of the water tower. However, the aesthetics aren't the only concern.

More importantly, the current condition of the water tower poses a safety hazard, especially for low-flying aircraft approaching the Millville Municipal Airport. Water towers frequently serve as visual navigation aids for pilots flying under visual flight rules (VFR). Any ambiguity or deterioration of these landmarks can pose significant risks to aviation safety.
