In a long debate in Galway coounty council the councillors ignored the advice given to them by Claremorris Chamber of Commerce and voted 27 to 8 in favour of the feasibitly study. , however second motion was put to the chamber asking for a feasibilty study for the entire greenway strategy of Galway,   Whilst this is not exactly what we hoped to achieve the Quiet Man Greenway is firmly on the agenda, we respectfully ask Claremorris Chamber of Commerce to keep its nose out of Galway council business in future, whilst we did not get what we want today, mark our words this is only the beginning.  Claremorris Chamber of Commerce never try that trick again.
