On 15 December, Toronto City Council will "reaffirm" a longstanding target of 40% tree canopy cover by 2050 to align with the TransformTO NetZero Strategy. Yet in the same meeting, they will vote to remove an entire block of mature trees beside a schoolyard on Dwight Avenue, in a neighbourhood with only 15% tree canopy cover.
More than 1600 people have signed the petition. We need each one of you to write a letter to City Council before the 15th. This is how:
1. Send your email:
To: councilmeeting@toronto.ca, councillor_grimes@toronto.ca, mayor_tory@toronto.ca
Cc: councillor_mckelvie@toronto.ca, councillor_pasternak@toronto.ca, councillor_layton@toronto.ca, councillor_colle8@toronto.ca, councillor_perruzza@toronto.ca, councillor_perks@toronto.ca, councillor_fletcher@toronto.ca, councillor_ainslie@toronto.ca
Subject: Missing Link Sidewalk Program - Dwight Avenue Sidewalk Installation
2. Make sure to include the following paragraph:
