The Issue

As one of the most diverse cities in the nation, we can take tremendous steps when we walk together in harmony. By signing this Unity Pledge, you’re committing to treat every person with dignity, to speak up against hate, and to help create a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Join us. Sign the Unity Pledge and be part of the movement toward a stronger, more united community.

UNITY PLEDGE

We, the community of Stamford, pledge to work together to ensure Stamford remains a city where everyone feels a sense of belonging, shared purpose, and mutual respect.

We pledge to uphold the principles of dignity, respect, and unity. We commit to fostering a culture where individuals support one another, where our common goals outweigh our differences, and where we strive to understand and care for our neighbors.

We reject all forms of hate, division, and discrimination. Acts of racism, prejudice, or bias—whether based on race, religion, background, identity, or any other trait—have no place in our community. We stand together against anything that threatens the peace and cohesion of our city.

We recognize that true unity comes not from ignoring differences, but from building relationships across them. We commit to engaging in honest dialogue, strengthening trust, and working collaboratively to solve problems that affect us all.

As one of the most diverse cities in the nation, Stamford’s strength lies in our ability to come together as one community. We will continue to nurture a spirit of neighborliness, shared responsibility, and collective well-being.

We sign this pledge today as a call to action to elevate the importance of these principles that form the foundation of a healthy and cohesive community.
