Following Breonna Taylor's murder that occurred during an attempted serving of a no knock warrant by the police in Louisville, KY, in which the police were at the wrong home to serve the no knock warrant, Breonna's Law was passed in Louisville, KY which prohibited no knock warrants.  This petition is for the City of Somerset to also prohibit no knock warrants in Somerset, KY.  It is clear that no knock warrants pose too many safety risks for the citizens that are being served and the potential citizens directly or indirectly involved, as well as the police officers serving them.  It is the right of every person to defend themselves, their family and their home, as in the case of Breonna Taylor, even to police officers if they enter unannounced, even with a warrant, under KRS 503.055.  Those being served with warrants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and no knock entry should never be allowed.  No knock entry violates citizens rights and we the citizens signing this petition demand no knock entry banned.
