UPGRADE TO INTERSECTION OF EIGHTY AND SIXTY EIGHT ROADS, BALDIVIS

There has been recent and on-going development of the area surrounding the intersection of Eighty and Sixty Eight Roads, Baldivis. Subsequently, this intersection is no longer suitable for the traffic required to use these roads.

The rapid population increase in Baldivis and surrounding suburbs has also meant that these roads do not meet the traffic needs of the local area.

Since 2014, three lives have been lost in motor vehicle accidents at the intersection of Eighty and Sixty Eight Roads.

The designated speed limit for Eighty Road is 60km/h; while it is 70km/h for Sixty Eight Road.  The intersection is controlled by stop signs for vehicles travelling along Eighty Road.  Recently ‘rumble’ strips were installed for vehicles travelling north along Eighty Road which was in response to one of the fatal accidents.

The intersection is unsafe for the vehicular and foot traffic close to Mother Teresa Catholic College.

This intersection needs to be updated as soon as possible.

The Mother Teresa Catholic College School Board and Parents and Friend’s Association would like Rockingham Parks Pty Ltd (the Developers of Parkland Heights, Baldivis); Rockingham City Council; and Main Roads WA to work together to commence the upgrade of this intersection immediately. We would like your support. Please assist us in highlighting the dangers and frustrations surrounding this intersection.

Please sign this petition to STATE THAT YOU SUPPORT OUR REQUEST FOR AN IMMEDIATE AND URGENT UPGRADE TO THE INTERSECTION OF EIGHTY AND SIXTY EIGHT ROADS IN BALDIVIS.
