Improved crosswalk needed at 1st Ave N and Gordon Staseson Blvd
Many of the residents in the Fairways West, Westhill, Normanview area use the local walking trails everyday. This specific crosswalk where 1st Ave N turns into Gordon Staseson Blvd currently has signs, but it is clearly not enough.
I would like to see illuminated crosswalk signs, pedestrian poles and push buttons, and lighting to improve pedestrian visibility to drivers at this particular crosswalk until development occurs on Courtney St. When driving west towards Gordon Staseson Blvd, especially during evening hours, it is extremely difficult to see if anyone is waiting to cross. Even in broad daylight, I have witnessed a teenager cross while riding his bicycle and collide with a truck where the driver hadn't seen the teen and slammed on his breaks. Although this was not reported at the time of the incident and the teen was ok, it could have resulted in a worse situation.
