Smith Woods is a 10 acre park in Redmond, WA that is over half forested land. It is one of the largest natural parks in this area. Currently, neighborhoods on the north side of the park access it via a private resident's driveway. That resident would like to create a legal easement and transfer the liability of their driveway land to the City of Redmond, so that it may be used fully as a community entrance to the park. This access point is also at risk of being fenced off by another adjacent neighbor. We need to let the city know how important this pathway is to so many of us.

• We support the City of Redmond creating a legal easement and taking over liability of the Pella's driveway to use as a neighborhood access point for Smith Woods Park.
• We support the City of Redmond in not allowing access to be cut off by a fence from the north side communities.

Smith Woods not only is a wonderful park, but it connects our neighborhoods to the north with the community and amenities on the south. We can walk to PCC, Starbucks, restaurants, and more by going through the park. We can walk our kids to Einstein and Barton elementary schools to play at the playgrounds. We are able to bike to the power line trail and further without biking on dangerous main roads. We can walk to friend's houses using the sidewalks that make it safe. This access point connects us with nature and to a more walkable, bikable lifestyle.

The possibility of this access point being taken away from our community is high. Please come together with us and show our support of this project to the City of Redmond.
