Multi-Community Town Hall on Safety
Wednesday, May 5th at 6pm
Please register to attend.
Who is not safe? Residents and visitors who walk, cycle, skateboard or drive.
What is the problem? ATVs, dirt bikes, slingshots and motorcycles of all sizes are speeding down residential and commercial streets, speeding down pedestrian sidewalks, riding against traffic, disregarding stop signs and lights, and holding up traffic to congregate or perform stunts.
When? What once was a summer occurrence has now developed into year-round behavior; all hours of the day, early evening and into the early morning hours.
Where? Throughout the city: South Street, North and South Broad Street, Delaware Avenue, Walnut Street, North Second Street, Kensington, Port Richmond, and Roosevelt Boulevard to name just a few reference points.
Why a multi-community Town Hall meeting? City leaders have the power to change how the police and other city agencies manage this issue. Residents need a combined platform to demonstrate the regular experience of this aggressive and dangerous safety issue.
Goal: a funded and sustainable plan of action from City leaders.
