Traffic problems during holiday/long weekends etc. is a problem for locals and visitors to the city of NIAGARA Falls Ontario....tourist development is supported and encouraged yet our city, our mayor and councillors do not seem motivated to find a viable solution to the worsening problem of traffic.

For hours at a time traffic is at a standstill.... pedestrians are at risk, higher risk for accidents and also the environmental issues gives ample reasons for this to be addressed now.  We have a visitor transportation system (WEGO) that could be used to transport visitors more efficiently.

Regional Traffic police need to be at intersections in the tourist area to control pedestrian traffic and vehicles. One way traffic in certain areas would help as well as limiting traffic in certain areas..... private parking lots have contributed to the problem and also gouge our visitors by increasing rates during “special” events or long weekends.

We the undersigned ask our city officials to undertake traffic management in our tourist areas that reduces the risks mentioned above and addresses concerns of our residents.
