As you know Omari Shakur was involved in an altercation with police in the city of Newburgh.

His disgusting display of ignorance and arrogance towards the officers of the law should under no circumstances be in the repertoire of a person in a position of power.

Unfortunately an apology after the fact is not good enough. His hostile actions of the past including his criminal record, his self admitted drug use, and his self admitted concealed weapon carrying make him a public threat, a public disgrace, and a shameful role model for the residents of the city of Newburgh.

Mr. Shakur's actions are demoralizing to the very community of which he is trying to advocate for.

This type of intrusive and disturbing behavior should not be tolerated by any means in any type of public office. Mr. Shakur was blatantly breaking traffic laws and reacted in such a way to cause yet more tension in the city that is already falling from grace.

We the undersigned, on behalf of representation from the city and towns of Newburgh New York, neighboring towns, neighboring states, states throughout the continental United States and several respective countries do hereby demand an immediate removal of Mr. Shakur from his seat as councilman-at-large.

This man is a ticking time bomb and clearly a violent and dangerous individual who has caused embarrassment to the very City that he is looking to revive.
