This petition is being made in hopes the Modesto dog park will get some modifications. This dog park is located on Morris and Enslen rd in Modesto CA. Now lets get into the main modification for this park. There is a concrete curb that is on the large dog side of the park that is along the left side of the fence right when you walk in. My dogs and others like to run this fence and chase the small dogs on the other side, the dogs and owners love being able to watch them interact through the fence and get their exercise in but the dirt in between the fence and the curb is low and there in a hole when going around the corner. My dog was running the fence slipped and fell off the concrete curb and tore his ACL now I’m dealing with having to make him comfortable at home and prepare for his $4,000 surgery. My other dogs have sprained their legs also tripping over this curb. I have also witnessed other dogs hurt themselves as well, this curb needs to come out! It’s useless and a danger for the animals who want to enjoy the park! Now for the easier modification, i go there almost everyday with my dogs to let them play and socialize but have witnessed too many times of dog owners not picking up their dogs poop! We need more trash cans around the park not just one by the main gate. If a dog poops all the way at the back of the park the owner has to walk all the way to the front to throw it away and most owners just ignore their dog pooping to avoid having to walk that far. The park should be able to stay clean and be well maintained for the enjoyment of the dogs and owners!
