The city of Lawrence lacks certain spaces for children, adults, and families to coexist and enjoy organized family physical activity. 

For years, Lawrence residents have posted begging for there to be an indoor roller skating rink. 

This would open numerous recreation opportunities, job opportunities, and sports opportunities (Roller Derby!) for Lawrence residents and tourists alike. 

The signatures collected on this form are individuals who have noticed this specific lack of sports and recreation, the city instead making way for countless smoke shops, and bars where children can’t even enter during a majority of their open time, if at all.

**Skate City was a suggestion under someone else sharing the link. In addition to the petition for the city, I decided to see if they would be interested in opening a location here. I sent them a very detailed email and am waiting to hear back, but the signatures on this form would basically be how I can communicate the demand to them, if they are interested. 

In the event that they aren’t interested, I think the city should open a space for roller skating the same way they have places for swimming, other sports, etc. and I looked into it and the only way to do that is to have a petition and submit it to the city. 

Last resort is trying to find a group of investors to show the petition to and open it with a group of people. 

I think not only would it introduce sports and entertainment opportunities but it would also add a few more jobs for Lawrence residents.**

The residents of this city ask kindly, please take this petition and open a roller skating rink. The people want it.
