Provide equitable public access to Gravelly Lake

Provide equitable public access to Gravelly Lake
The Issue
There are two small public access points to Gravelly Lake that are (arguably) intentionally overgrown; making access to this public lake accessible to only a wealthy few via private property. There is currently no realistic way for the general public to access this lake in its current state to enjoy recreational activities.
We, the tax payer, demand equal equitable access to Gravelly Lake in at least one of the two overgrown access points. A public lake needs to be exactly that! And a lake as large as Gravelly Lake should have adequate access for all our residents. This has been an expressed grievance shared by many of our fellow residents here in Lakewood Washington and abroad. We are petitioning the city and state to step in and provide adequate equitable access to this beautiful lake.
A previous petition was made a year ago demanding the very same thing. Let's ramp up the pressure and make this happen. Wealth doesn't mean you can deny others access to public areas. We are paying taxes for this, and we are we are not getting our fair share.
During the record shattering heat waves experienced in late June, the city of Lakewood decided to close down access to American Lake providing little recourse from the heat to the local general public. Having an additional lake open to the general public would have alleviated this issue a bit. That makes the case for restoring access to this lake that much stronger.
A class action lawsuit in California set a legal precedence for a similar problem experienced there and could be used as a legal example in regards to this problem we are having with Gravelly Lake (and other lakes in Washington state for that matter).
While you're at it, here's the link to provide a review for the lake on Google. You can leave a review and let people know what's really happening here.
