Save the Westsyde Pool ( Again) !!

This petition made change with 3,368 supporters!

5 Years ago in the winter of 2015 I started a petition to save the westsyde pool. The community rallied together and the city started neighborhood meetings to discuss our concerns and wants .

Not only is our community of westsyde effected but everyone this side of the river is.  As residents from the north shore , Brock , Batchelor heights , Jamieson , black pines , heffley and raeleigh use this community factilty. To long the north side of river is ignored incomparison to " up the hill "

We came together once in 2015 And we made it loud and clear we need our pool. Now here we are 5 years later and we are facing another closure. We the residents of westsyde and beyond feel as this is an insult and slap in the face.

The City has made usage of the pool and facilities hard enough with odd hours, short staffed, cancelled activities, less classes, colder water for our kids , miss management and long closures despite COVID 19. They tell us we need to use it more to keep it but they dont make it accessible for everyone. We feel the city wants the closure so they have made it hard to sustain .

So once again we raise together as a community to let our city officials know how important our pool is and that we need more access to it not less.  We need it open year round with longer hours. With proper staffing numbers.

Keeping the pool and ran normally is the right of the westsyde people. It is a benefit to the community, our well being, physical and emotional health and mental health. It is an investment in our community and the residents as well as the future.

We should not be expected to access or travel to  facilities outside our community.

The pool is our right and responsibly of the community to use freely and to save.

Westsyde is a booming community lacking a business district and factilties. Families choose westsyde for a reason and we need to give back to our families . We need our pool.

Please sign this petition again to save our pool.
