Slow Down Traffic on Bonaventure Drive!

The Issue

There has been a longstanding issue with speeding cars along Bonaventure Drive, especially between Limeridge Road West & Caroga Court. The intersection at Bonaventure & Limeridge is particularly problematic.

The visibility at that intersection, specifically the southeast corner, is extremely limited. Motorists cannot see pedestrians entering the intersection, nor can pedestrians fully see oncoming traffic.

There have been speed bumps installed on Bonaventure closer to Clifton Downs Road as well as on Darlington.  These are a good start, but the aforementioned stretch of Bonaventure remains very dangerous. Even the recent switch to a "40km/hr" neighbourhood hasn't made the difference we need to see. The stop signs are not respected and it comes at the expense of the safety of the neighbourhood.

This is a quiet residential area containing many families with children.  The number of "very close calls" with cars these residents have experienced is too high and it's only a matter of time before a serious accident (or worse) occurs.

Various local residents have made phone calls to Hamilton City Hall about this exact issue with little to no response.  There is documented video evidence of the issues specifically at the Limeridge & Bonaventure intersection. There have also been calls to 911 regarding extremely dangerous driving in this area. This needs to be addressed by the City of Hamilton!

We're demanding the installation of speed bumps on Bonaventure (between Limeridge and Caroga Court) and we are demanding that the visibility at the Limeridge/Bonaventure intersection is improved significantly (whether through prohibiting parking near the intersection or other means).
