Fantastic news about #KeddyAccessTrail petition! Global News: https://globalnews.ca/news/4192448/new-bike-lane-up-escarpment-to-be-named-in-honour-of-late-hamilton-cyclist-jay-keddy/ After over 1600 signatures, a motion is being brought to Hamilton City Council on Wednesday (brought forth by Terry Whitehead) to officially name the Claremont Multi-Use Trail as the "Keddy Access Trail" (KAT). In 2019, we're looking forward to this inclusive trail becoming a reality: ...."Let's skateboard the KAT!" ..."I can't walk the escarpment stairs because of my knee problems. But I can handle the Keddy!" ..."Let's take the Keddy Access Trail!" ..."I'll be able to skip booking a long wait for DARTS on the downhill direction and wheelchair the KAT instead" ..."I'm looking forward to biking the Keddy" This is not just a "bike lane", it's a fully inclusive Multi-Use Trail with many mid-neighborhood connections. As seen in this image. Thank you for the surprisingly fast response. The petition will remain open until City Hall makes this official. At the moment, it's looking very good, it is apparent that City Hall has recognized the popular support of this petition unexpectedly quickly. EXCLUSIVE TELEVISION INTERVIEW: Tune to CHCH TV at 6pm tonight for an exclusive interview with Keddy's son Allastair Keddy, as well as Mark Rejhon and Alain H. Bureau.
