We banned single use plastic bags and survived. Now it's the turn of single use plastic water bottles.  Each week 27.1% of the population purchases water in a plastic bottle. We call on the City of Greater Geelong to ban the sale of single use plastic water bottles throughout the municipality.  Most bottles are used once and discarded ending up in landfill or our oceans. Accumulated plastic waste shows our contempt for the natural environment. Globally each year, millions of plastic bottles are purchased, taking many years to break down. Reusable water bottles are a one off investment and last a lifetime.Tap water is freely available at home, work and play. Come on Geelong-let's be the first council in Victoria. Sign to ban the sale of single use plastic water bottles in the City of Greater Geelong.  Thank you.
