Today, Feb. 7th, is the Special Election for Mayor. Vote at your regular polling location. Polls are open until 7:00pm. In light of recent events surrounding the University Drive Cut-Thru, we support Ellie Schmidt for Mayor. She is the only candidate who listened to us and who voted NO on proceeding with the University Drive Cut-Thru project. Ellie heard us loud and clear and cast her vote accordingly. The other candidates voted to proceed, despite overwhelming opposition. Ellie Schmidt does NOT support a project that would increase traffic in our neighborhood and result in traffic becoming even worse in and around the Northfax area. She believes it is better to wait and see what the redevelopment project will be before deciding where a road should go – or if it even makes sense to put one in at all. Last May, just 3 votes decided a winner in the Council race, so every vote will count in this critical election.
