A traffic study recently completed to evaluate the proposed University Drive extension between Fairfax Boulevard (Route 50) and Eaton Place estimates an alarming 15-25% increase in traffic volume on University Drive. The council will be discussing the cut-thru during a work session tomorrow night. While the public cannot speak at a work session, people can still attend to show them that we are paying attention. It is imperative that council hears from as many people as possible regarding the cut-thru. I encourage you and anyone you know that opposes this project to email mayor&council@fairfaxva.gov to state your opposition to the project. If we bombard them with emails asking them to kill the cut-thru, we've got a shot.
