Hi everybody, This is just a one-off email to let you know that the Council is consulting on changes to the roads and pavements for the Roseburn to Haymarket section of the cycle track. Whilst I think there is no chance the Council will back down on the principle of the track, I do think it’s worth registering a protest – and, particularly, identifying specific elements that will affect your amenity, business or ease of travel. There are many changes being inflicted beyond what is necessary for the cycle track itself, with parking being removed and bits of footway and carriageway re-determined as cycle track. The cycling officers have, I feel, been indulging in “blue-sky” thinking with scant regard to the impact on businesses and residents. I urge you to look at the plans and if there is something in particular that troubles you, please object. All objections must be reported to the Transport Committee. The statutory consultation for the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) and Redetermination Order (RSO) will remain open for four weeks (closing Friday 18 May). You can view the designs online here: http://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/info/20016/roads_travel_and_parking/263/view_or_comment_on_traffic_orders . You can comment on the proposed changes by emailing trafficorders@edinburgh.gov.uk Please ensure you include the Order Number (TRO/17/91, and RSO/18/05), and your full name and address (business or residential). The Murrayfield Community Council will be discussing the TRO and RSO at its meeting at 7.30pm on the 1st May at Murrayfield Parish Church Centre, Ormidale Terrace. Please come along. Best wishes Pete Gregson The Roseburn Vision Group
