As promised, here is an update. 

BC-Alta Developments is distributing a flyer to homes in Royal Bay and other neighbourhoods telling of plans for a Walk-in Clinic, Pharmacy, Restaurant and Bakery right next to Havenwood Park.

The Developer has also posted signs in Havenwood itself claiming to be "Green" This is just NOT the case as per the reports showing how he intends to develop the area

The developer is boasting the value of such services and encouraging residents to sign “Yes” to his flyer. His plans have not been approved.

Did you know this development will also include 6 buildings, six storeys high, all with roof-top patios and underground parking (338 rental units is about 600 vehicles plus even more people)!

This proposed development listed as “3476 Wishart Road” is located on both sides of Veterans Memorial Parkway (VMP) adjacent to Havenwood Park which will result in traffic congestion, commuting line-ups, insufficient traffic control lights and safety concerns for school kids and Havenwood Park users.

All of this will negatively affect our community. Our neighbourhoods are next to this proposed development and Havenwood Park, which is a valuable natural area for Colwood. Such high-density developments are better suited elsewhere in accordance with Colwood’s Official Community Plan (OCP).
