Keep Protected Bike Lanes on Clifton Avenue.
The Issue
On Thursday, August 26, 2021, the City of Cincinnati announced that the protected two lane bike lane on Clifton Avenue would be removed. The lane ensured a safe route for pedestrians and bike riders alike. Safe and accessible bike lanes are vital in a college community where many residents rely on bikes or walking as their main modes of transportation. The lane has only been up since March 2021 and the City is already demanding it to be taken down despite overwhelming support.
The people of Cincinnati are tired of pedestrian and cyclist safety rights being pushed aside. By signing this petition, you are calling on Mayor John Cranley, City Manager Boggs Muething, City Council, the University of Cincinnati and their President Neville Pinto to listen to the needs of this community who values safety.
