TNR advocates, our tiny Change.org petition has now received more than ELEVEN THOUSAND signatures!!! That is truly phenomenal, and I cannot thank you enough for standing up for the humane treatment of Carrollton’s feral cat population, and taking this first step towards ensuring that fewer cats are needlessly euthanized at Carrollton’s Animal Shelter, and helping more cats get the opportunity to find a home in the care of experienced rescue organizations.
However, this is just one step, and a petition alone is not enough. We need to take the next step and elect a Mayor and Council members that believe in TNR/TNVR and will do what it takes for Carrollton to formally adopt the policy and practices that support TNVR. We have a terrific opportunity right now. Councilman Adam Polter, who has four rescue cats of his own, and is an ardent supporter of TNVR and our rescue groups, is running for Carrollton Mayor. This is a prime opportunity to stand behind a candidate that stands with us and will make this change possible! Councilman Polter discusses this priority clearly on his campaign website at https://adampolter.com/animal-welfare/
Please join me in supporting Councilman Polter’s campaign to become Carrollton Mayor! He has shown the caring and compassion we are seeking, and he has the determination and fortitude to see this through. It starts by VOTING! Early Voting for our municipal election opens next Monday, April 24th and runs through May 2nd, with Election Day on Saturday May 6th. Don’t sit this one out! Make time to vote and be the difference! Election information is available here. https://www.cityofcarrollton.com/government/city-manager-s-office/city-secretary/elections
Beyond voting, please visit Councilman Polter’s website at https://adampolter.com and request a yard sign, sign up to volunteer, and if you have the means, please contribute to the campaign so that he has the resources to win and move Carrollton beyond the status quo! This is our chance, and he is the candidate that, as Mayor, will bring TNR/TNVR to Carrollton! Thank you!

P.S. – The kitten in the photo was adopted on Friday. =)
