Fireworks are used to celebrate events and joyous occasions. However, in the past few years the use of fireworks have caused more issues of concern. The aftermath of fireworks on certain events leaves parks and public areas full of trash and packaging. Also, the increased air pollution is further contributing to our current green house gas emissions and climate change issues. Neighbourhood quiet hours are not respected and fireworks tend to continue all night and days past these events. We would like a firework mandate to be put in place to put a cap on firework days and times or a complete firework ban as these issues are increasing in the Brampton area and surrounding. We, the residents of Brampton, would like action to be taken by the City of Brampton to address this concern.
