Thanks to everyone who participated from allgo, AAAHCT, ALTA and Mama Sana/Vibrant Woman!!!!!!! The 2016 budget for the city of Austin passed INCLUDING funds for Health Equity programs that are community based, culturally-specific, non-traditional and based in community organizing!!!!! (and include using a midwifery model to address maternal and infant health for low-income mothers of color- WOW! Thanks to ALL those who attended the Austin city council budget hearings to stand for Racial Justice and Health Equity in Austin. We hand-delivered the Health Equity Petition with over 200 signatures to all 10 Austin city council members and the mayor on Tuesday September 8th, right before they entered their final budget decisions sessions. Now comes the implementation, One Step at a Time, we will keep you posted..................
