Petition updateRescind the homeless camping ordinance in Austin.URGENT: The campaign is on!

We've been working since February 2019, more than 13 months, to get to this very point.

Now, we have one chance to save our city.

The homeless camping disaster, foisted upon our city by comrade Greg Casar and our feckless Mayor Steve Adler, is such an obvious failure that even the Mayor publicly admitted it.

Since this experiment began, our homeless population has doubled, from 2,500 to 5,000. I predict it will double again in the next two years if we fail to win on May 1.

Public safety is worse. Our violent crime rate is the highest it's been in five years. Every day we see a stabbing, a shooting, an encampment catch fire, a park trashed, the list goes on and on.

But the worst reason that the camping disaster is terrible for our city is that our homeless are undeniably worse off today thank they were 18 months ago.

They need shelter. They need mental health treatment. They need drug and alcohol abuse treatment. They are receiving none of these from the Mayor and the City Council.

They are being told 'good luck' by City Hall. Go find food. Go find a tent. Try not to get raped or beaten or taken advantage of by predators.

THAT'S NOT COMPASSIONATE.

Meanwhile $163M have been spent from FY 2018-FY2020 and there is no new homeless housing. Where did the money go?

Enough is enough.

It should not be too much to ask that we have a city that is safe and clean for both the residents and our homeless community.

We have one chance to win on May 1st.

>>> DONATE NOW <<<

We can save our city. We can refocus the Mayor and the city council on ACTUALLY DELIVERING homeless housing, not pretending that a tent is a house in subzero temperatures for five days.

Early voting begins April 19.

We have roughly 40 days to contact tens of thousands of Austin voters and educate them:

1) You must early vote April 19-27 or on Election Day on May 1
2) You need to know where to vote and how (stay tuned)
3) You must vote YES on Prop. B.

We need your help today.

This campaign is going to be expensive. Turnout will be low and there will not be any candidates on the ballot to turn out voters. We have to carry the ballot ourselves and we will be up against a biased local media, extreme activists, every member of the city council (but one), and the Mayor.

But we will win.

With your help, I know we will.
