The crosswalk on Summerfield BLVD in summerhill by the tennis courts is a very dangerous place especially in the mornings as children are trying to get to school or catch the bus. The curvature of the road plus shrubbery and parked vehicles prevent cars from seeing children trying to cross the road. People also tend to speed here. In the winter months when it’s darker for longer the streetlight does not light up both sides of the crosswalk which is also an issue. Previous attempts to get city action have not been successful. 
They sent someone to assess the light and said it was adequate. Nobody has addressed the shubbery, the curvature of the road, the Cars and lack of vision especially if you are traveling westbound on Summerfield Blvd headed towards mainstreet. 
We as a community have been asking for an upgraded sidewalk for years. We even offered to fundraise for it and was denied by the city. 
It’s time to take action. It should not take a child to get seriously injured to get an upgrade at the crosswalk.
Upgrade suggestions are - push button - flashing light or a speed bump. Moving the crosswalk won’t help as there are still 2 connecting paths to this crosswalk. People will still cross there regardless.. Adding a second crosswalk by the mailboxes where the other 2 sides of the pathways would be nice as well.
