City Council of the City and County of Honolulu: Permit registration of firearms at all police stations

The Issue

Currently all firearms registrations must take place at the Beretania Street police station. This creates a hardship on those individuals who live outside Honolulu due to travel time and parking concerns. Furthermore, the registration hours should be extended to better serve those individuals who cannot easily take off work to complete the mandatory, multi-visit, registration process.

This is a petition asking Honolulu City Council to require HPD to establish permits and registration at all stations on Oahu during and after regular work hours.  Your e-mail address is requested so that I can notify you when this proposed ordinance gets a hearing, and you can send testimony and show up at the hearings.  I will not share your contact information with anyone but Hawaii Rifle Association and the Honolulu City and County Council and Mayor after January 1, 2013.

You took the time to stand in this line, and now you can help fix it so you don’t have to in the future.

Thanks,

Dr. Max Cooper
