We are asking you to kindly sign this petition to show your support so we can petition the city of Ada to let our town have a pride crosswalk. For months young local activists have been trying to get the city council of Ada, OK to allow a Pride crosswalk. The city council of Ada has denied activists from speaking at their meeting and putting this on the meeting agenda. The city council has refused to listen to activists and has refused to show support for the LGBTQIA+ community and other minorities. 

The town of Ada is small and it is of the utmost importance we show minorities they are welcome, safe, and seen. While a 'Pride Crosswalk' may be a small sign of support, it will impact and encourage citizens to be themselves. We want all LGBTQIA+ to be represented in the city of Ada. The LGBTQIA+ citizens are just as much part of the town as anyone else. They pay taxes, they contribute to the local and state economy, they work in the school system, and more. Everyone deserves to have themselves represented, regardless of the town size and little diversity.
