Singing the National Anthem is a means of expressing solidarity with the people of India, and a measure of affection that one feels for this glorious motherland that has been nurturing hopes and dreams of India’s billions . Unfortunately Nowadays we just see our National Anthem being Played & NOT SUNG in Cinema halls ,Offices, Govt. Departments,Societies & even Educational Institutes.

Have witnessed many incidences , where if the tape recorder stops in-between, people too follow the same ! Many times when me & my family sing it loudly in theatre, people look at us as if we are aliens .Lots of my friends & colleagues don't sing National Anthem & choose to just stand - my question is WHY ? Don't we know the lyrics completely or don't have the confidence or don't consider it as an important issue .

Love for nation means being proud of one's country, its history, culture and ethos. It also means showing respect to the country's anthem ,symbols and signs.When as parents & teachers we sing loudly ,we teach our next generation to do the same .More than debating over Supreme Court's Mandate over "National Anthem" PLAYED in theatre, Everyone should first SING the National Anthem ALOUD !!!!!

This INDEPENDENCE DAY ,LET'S SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM ALOUD & NOT JUST PLAY !
