We, the undersigned members of the Poway High School and Spartan Youth Rugby Community, write to respectfully request your support in reclassifying rugby from a club sport to an officially sponsored CIF sport. The time has come to recognize the proven success and positive impact of our program by granting it the status it has earned.

For many years, our rugby program has operated with club status, consistently demonstrating its stability, popularity, and the significant student interest it generates. We are proud to have successfully run vibrant programs for both boys and girls, offering equal opportunities and fostering a strong sense of community and dedication among all participants. This sustained success as a club showcases a deeply committed player base and a reliable operational structure that is more than ready to integrate into the official athletic department.

The program's future looks even brighter due to a flourishing local youth rugby club. This organization is actively developing young talent, providing a consistent pipeline of experienced players who will soon enroll at Poway High School eager to continue their rugby journey at the high school level. This ensures the program's continued vitality and competitive edge for years to come.

Furthermore, rugby is a sport renowned for fostering exceptional camaraderie and a uniquely positive culture among players and teams. The emphasis on sportsmanship and mutual respect, deeply ingrained in the sport's ethos, provides invaluable character-building opportunities.
