I’m honestly not entirely sure what final factor(s) led Amazon away from Churchill. However, I can say that the group Churchill future and Churchill residents made sure no stone was left unturned. They spread public awareness about the dangers of a warehouse of this magnitude coming into this small residential community. They were at all the meetings, protesting in inclimate weather, posting signs, going door to door and made sure the developers knew our community didn’t approve of this happening. We would also like to thank everyone who made their voices heard through this petition. This petition was presented to the Churchill council during the delegations to show the true numbers that disapproved. I can only hope this is the first step towards a reasonable use of the Westinghouse site which will fit the character of Churchill!
