Save landmark on Bowden Hill, Lacock

Save landmark on Bowden Hill, Lacock
The Issue
Give the Friends of St Anne’s church a chance to save this enchanting landmark for us all.
The Opportunity
St Anne’s Bowden Hill is a beautiful little church in North Wiltshire. It stands in open land above an escarpment, with a tremendous view to the west over Lacock and the Avon plain towards Bath.
People stop at the top of Bowden Hill Common, often around sunset, to enjoy the sense of peace, with the church framing the view.
If equipped with a loo and a kitchen, St Anne’s could serve as a valuable resource for the community and beyond; and continue as a place of worship and a tranquil spot for visitors from near and far, for many years to come.
The Threat
One of the St Anne’s buttresses has shifted due to a recent drainage issue. As a result, the church may now be deconsecrated by the diocese. After that, site difficulties might leave it stripped and abandoned.
The Solution
The Friends of St Anne’s (FoSA) has been set up under the umbrella of the Parochial Church Council (PCC). If FoSA can show support, we will be taken seriously by grant-giving bodies.
Help FoSA to try and save St Anne’s.
