Church of England

The Church of England, also known as the Anglican Church, is the established Christian church in England, and the mother church of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Founded in the 16th century as part of the Protestant Reformation by King Henry VIII, it blends aspects of both Protestant and Catholic traditions and theology. Although it is led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, it recognizes the British monarch as its supreme governor. Its teachings emphasize the Scriptures and the Gospels, the Apostolic succession, worship liturgy, and the importance of historical Anglican traditions. Its wide spectrum of theology and liturgy allows for a diverse range of beliefs and practices, making it a broad church.
