As of 16h00 today, the motion to change the name of our park Giovanni-Caboto was removed from the council meeting tonight at Ville de Laval. My colleague David De Cotis (elected municipal official from St Bruno) along with the signed petition of hundreds of names from the residents of Val-des-Brises made the difference. De Cotis informed the city administration & mayor, that many residents of the sector were not consulted, nor informed of such change. There is will a public consultation with the local residents in the near future. I would like to thank David De Cotis and all the residents of Val-des-Brises that signed the petition, with-in a short span of time, our community came together to protect our heritage.
