Save the Goldfields Mobile Library

Save the Goldfields Mobile Library
The issue
Today I was informed that the Goldfields Mobile Library service will be gone by the end of 2016.
The truck will be sold, the books will go back to their shelves in the Bendigo Library, and three of the nicest people I have ever met will be out of a job.
For the people who live in the rural towns serviced by this "library truck" (as my 2 year old son, Finley, calls it), the chance to borrow some books once a week is one of the few joys available. There isn't a huge amount of entertainment out here, and not everyone can make frequent trips to Bendigo.
The CEO of the Goldfield Libraries, Chris Kelly, wants to take away this service. The truck carries over 13000 books, DVDs and magazines that the people in these remote areas would otherwise not have access to. We can reserve items online, from the main library in Bendigo, and the drivers bring them on the truck.
I take my kids to the Library Truck every week to borrow books. Kids from the local primary schools often can be seen choosing books in the library truck. The elderly citizens of the town meet there to find a new read and catch up with friends. This is such a valuable service, I would be saddened to see it finish.
We only have until the end of April to contest this, after that it will be finalised.
Please help us save the Library Truck. We invest so much in literacy programs for the kids, don't let them take away the books.
