Although The giant Panda population is slowly on the rise. From deforestation and farmland expansion it made Giant Pandas go on the endangered species list. Giant Pandas eat about 20 pounds of Bamboo a day and spend 16 hours a day forging and eating. In the winter months, Giant Pandas move from the top of the mountains down to lower grounds. As farmland expansion, illegal logging, and deforestation happens Bamboo is cut down leaving it hard for Pandas to survive in the wild.

     The chinses government has taken some steps like making conservation laws and having panda reserves. WWF has a made a really good job of working with the Chinese government to make these panda reserves. Panda Reserves are good because It makes sure that there is not farmland expansion. Pandas are also keeping the mountains nice and fresh because when they eat they drop seeds to make more bamboo. If the species die out they will probably cut all the bamboo down because there will be no fear of extinction. This will also affect the food chain because there are some preditors that prey on Pandas in situations.
