Reinstate Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy to Holy Family Preschool

Reinstate Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy to Holy Family Preschool
The Issue
Holy Family Special Preschool is a purpose built facility that caters to 22 families in Sligo and surrounding counties. All of these 22 children (aged 2yrs 10 mths to school age) have special needs and require additional help/support in 2 or more developmental areas as this is the criteria to be offered a place within the preschool.
We, the parents, have been informed over the summer that the CDNT/HSE have decided that they are no longer in a position to offer our children at the service Speech & Language therapy and/or Occupational therapy whilst in attendance at the service. These appointments (which are few and far between if at all keep in mind) will be offered at an alternative location but we will not hold our breath.
These 2 forms of therapy are essential in allowing our special needs children to grow and develop as well as prepare for life after preschool. Having these therapies available on site allows for our children to receive a whole multi disciplinary team approach as was the norm previous to this year and crucial to our children's development.
The image you see above is 15 of the 22 children that are affected by this issue and these are the faces of the children that need your voice!
We simply ask that these services be re-instated and retained for our children and we thank everyone who supports us!
