If you live in Baxter, TN and have kids, please be careful with your kids if you ever see this man! He has small children and could be at your team events. We learned the hard way. 

Please understand this is the nightmare we were forced to live. 
Feb. 25,2020 I gave birth to my second born son and he was perfect. I couldn’t wait to see the wonder in his eyes as he grew and explored this world. All the excitement before he learned how cruel this world could be. That was very short lived. 362 days from birth, evil …….. pure evil rocked our world and taught Brayden the truth about this world way too early.  

Feb. 2021 we should have been planning a huge 1st birthday party. We should have been getting ready to celebrate him. But life’s not fair. And that statement couldn’t even begin to do justice for what he was about to encounter.  Instead of a huge birthday celebration, Brayden spent his 1st birthday in Nashville at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. This was also during covid so only one parent could stay with him. And no visitors. 

On Feb. 21,2021 some “friends” watched the boys for us. Brittany took 3 of the 4 kids to church and left Brayden with her husband, Samuel Tyler Norris. And that’s when this horrific nightmare began. Brayden was physically abused. When we picked him up we immediately took him to the ER in Cookeville, they said he had a concussion and sent us home. Another trip to the ER and calls to the pediatrician and we were sent Vanderbilt and that’s where they found his injuries. 

Brayden suffered a brain bleed behind his left eye, severe concussion, 2 broken ribs, skull fracture and severe bruising including a bruise in the shape of a shoe on the side of his face. He had night terrors for the longest time. He became very clingy to only mom and dad after this because he didn’t trust anyone. 

1,682 days (Feb. 21, 2021-Sept. 30, 2025) we have been on a journey to get justice for Brayden. We were told that Tyler could be convicted and sentenced for up to 25 years. That journey ended yesterday. The DA’s office aren’t further perusing at this time. There is no justice for Brayden today. Those details don’t need to be shared at this time. It has been 4 years, 7 months and 9 days that we have had the hope of justice. Sometimes, the justice system is broken and doesn’t work like it should for the victim. Every couple of months going in for yet another  court day only to be put off yet again, 3 accepted plea deals where he chickened out and didn’t formally enter a guilty plea was like ripping the scab off every time and took us right back to Feb. 21, 2021.

We ask for your prayers as our family processes all the emotions that were forced on us over the last 4 plus years, And all the layers to this ordeal. Pray for us in hopes we can forgive what has taken place. 

Advice: Be very very very careful when it comes to your kids. Even your closest friends just might have a dark side you know nothing about. We learned the hard way.
